Curious about Admissions?

Whether you are currently a parent at Village Green Day School or a potential parent looking for options for your child, we are delighted that you have chosen to inquire about us. It is our sincere and continuing desire to provide the best environment for your child's early school and school-age childcare experience.

The goal of Admissions is to ensure that your child’s school experience is enriching, enlightening, and fun! We encourage you to browse through our website and to contact us with any questions you might have. Finally, we invite you to come take a look at the school by scheduling a tour. We are delighted that you are considering Village Green Day School and look forward to hearing from you.

Village Green Day School was the vision of our late Founder Lynne Simmons. Lynne’s vision was to create a loving home away from home for our students; an environment Where Learning Feels Like Family. The purpose of this page is to provide you with information you may need when making the decision of where to enroll your child.

Student Eligibility

Village Green admits students on a nondiscriminatory basis, without regard to sex, race, color, religion, or national
origin. Parents and guardians are required to tour the School before applying.

General Placement

Village Green's care and attention to placement is central to giving students an opportunity to grow in the environment that is best suited to their particular age and stage, school experience, needs, and personality. Chronological age is most often a very reliable marker for developmental age; however, every child is unique and we recognize that on occasion, the ages differ. Sometimes, after a new applicant’s playdate (and screening if applying for the JK) we may offer a placement that differs from the expected, chronological class. VGDS parents with special placement requests (those that are outside of the chronological age requirements and/or are not recommended by the class teacher), should make the request at the time of readmission for returning students. Please refer to the previous program section for the age requirement for each class level. Teacher placement recommendations are written in the January Report Card and shared during the January Parent/Teacher Conferences prior to readmission.

We are proud to incorporate our Bloomz Community Page as an essential tool to keep you informed of events, classroom activities and special announcements. The partnership between school and home is vital to the success of our program and we rely on strong communication to accomplish this.

For currently enrolled Village Green students, readmission for the upcoming fall starts immediately after January conferences. New families interested in admission are asked to make an appointment for a tour of the School. For this initial tour, we ask parents to come without their child. New student applications are accepted after completing the tour. New families who have submitted an application will be invited to attend either an individual class visit or a play date (not applicable for TT’s, Toddler program and 2’s program). After your child’s school visit, we will begin processing new student applications. Notification of acceptance and placement for returning students is made by mid-March.
