At Village Green, we encourage the parents of our students to become involved in our School's activities. There are several ways to become active, with varying levels of committment:
Parent Advisory Council: The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a group of parents who volunteer their time to organize family-oriented events centered around their children's education. PAC hosts fantastic events that are sure to become special memories in your family's experience at Village Green Day School. These include family events and evening socials for our parents. PAC helps to foster a sense of a school family at Village Green through activities such as Parent Socials, New Parent Orientation, and Staff Appreciation Week. PAC gives back through community assistance and charitable giving. To find out how you can become involved in PAC, visit the Lowes Island or Great Falls Parent Information pages.
Room Parent: Each classroom has one to three room parents who help the teacher prepare for events in the classroom such as holiday parties. These parents work with the teacher to identify the needs for each event, and then enlist the assistance of other parents in fulfilling these needs.
Classroom Volunteer: Opportunities exist for parents to provide snacks and supplies for special events in the classroom. Parents may also volunteer to work at these special events, and to help chaperone field trips.
Attendance at Special Events: Throughout the year, family members are invited to attend both classroom events (e.g., holiday parties) and school-wide events (e.g., Grandparent's Day and the School Musical).
