A Letter from our Head of School

Thank you for your interest in Village Green Day School at Lowes Island!  I am thrilled that my journey through life has led me to be the Head of School at Village Green. My career in education began when I became a high school biology teacher.  I taught for thirteen years and ended my high school teaching career as the Head of the Science Department. I decided to shift gears when I had my own children to become an early childhood administrator so that I could remain near my children during their youth.

So, as a mom, I know firsthand the importance of finding a school that is a good fit for your family. When I joined the Village Green staff, my children were immediately embraced by the loving staff. As a Village Green parent myself, it is my goal to do everything I can to continue to provide a warm and safe environment within which our children can reach their learning potential. Village Green is truly a school Where Learning Feels Like Family.

The professional staff at Village Green Day School at Lowes Island provides a safe, nurturing environment that encourages academic growth and development. Through the implementation of the Core Knowledge Curriculum in our traditional preschool program and didactic materials in our Montessori classroom, our teachers promote learning using a variety of stimulating experiences.   Planned enrichment activities in our Child Care (CC) and School Age Child Care (SACC) programs encourage children to develop new interests. Small class sizes allow our teachers to give appropriate attention to each individual child. The Village Green teachers utilize our three acre campus to incorporate play and outdoor experiences into their lessons.  And, our Character Connection program will teach your child how to make good, respectful choices on their path to becoming a responsible citizen.

The teachers and administrators at Village Green look forward to working with you and your child to enrich their early childhood years.
