Come one, come all to the Carnival! We'll design and implement a Carnival for the Lower Campers complete with snow cones and games.
Our American Girl I
Bring your American Girl doll and Mrs. Fowler, a veteran teacher, will lead you back in time with Samantha, Kit and Kaya to discover crafts, cooking, and customs of different decades.
We will visit Oatlands Plantation for a special event designed "just for us".
Skateboard Camp
As an alternative to American Girl, we'll offer skateboarding for beginner through intermediate riders. The American In-Line Skate Company will conduct this program. Learn to push, ride, tack, turn, kick turn, approach ramps, ride fakie, rock n'roll, and more.
Camp is held in a mobile Skate/Fun Park which will be brought to our site. Campers must bring a skate board, skate board helmet, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards.
If you can make it, you can wear it home! Mrs. Cobb, our Art Specialist, will have our campers exploring an exciting variety of materials including leather, tie-dye, beads, sequins, and more to create an awesome wearable collection.
Hola! Campers will travel South of the Border with our resident chef, Ms. Callahan, to learn about cooking in the Mexican culture. They will develop tortilla making skills and make their own salsa, tacos, and a tasty Mexican dessert.
Do you have what it takes to be the next Village Green Idol? We will hone in on your talent and at the end of the week, campers will participate in our own "live" Village Green Talent Show which will be videotaped for their viewing.
Our American Girl II
Our veteran teacher, Mrs. Fowler, will explore animal habitats with Lanie, diversity and community with Marie-Grace and Cecile and combatting bullying with Chrissa.
Be sure to bring your American Girl Doll to join in the fun. We will also be taking a special trip to the American Girl Store in Tysons during this week.
Computer Tech and Robotics
As an alternative, we'll also offer a technology and robotics computer camp provided by Digital Kidz Technology. Campers will be introduced to multimedia programs, engineering, and robotics using Lego WeDo.
Is there life beyond Neptune? Can you name the constellations? How much do you weigh on the moon? Campers will answer these questions and explore what life is like in Space.
During this week, we will also journey to the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum to explore the space exhibit.
We're all invited to the party in the jungle led by our Music Specialist, Mrs. Sill! This two week session allows campers to take on starring roles, sing to upbeat songs, and use their creativity to design and decorate for our jamming party in the jungle.
Students who are enrolled in our School Age Childcare Program for the 2013-2014 School Year are eligible to enroll for one or two weeks of Cool Down Care. We will be transforming the building from Camp to School during these weeks, but the children will be well cared for as they have lots of fun playing outside and in.
