Sess 1 ~ June 24 to June 28 ~ Things You Can Build

We couldn’t be more excited to kick off our upper camp program with Things That You Can Build! This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) based program will incorporate fun, innovative and creative projects that our young engineers can really take into the future! We are thrilled to have both a specialist and the STEM Ambassadors from Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology leading our camp this week. And if that wasn’t enough, we will be completing our week with a field trip to the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. to visit the Play, Work, Build exhibit.

Sess 2 ~ July 1 to July 3 ~ Making Mosaics!

We have an amazing 3 day program with visiting guest artist Jessica Maxson from Maverick Mosaics located in Vienna, Va. Our campers this week will design and create beautiful and intricate pieces of mosaic art to take home with them at the end of the week. Our advice to you is that you had better make some room on your walls because you will definitely want to display these mosaic masterpieces!

Sess 3 ~ July 8 to July 12 ~ Mr. Henry's Sports Camp

Need we say more?! Prepare for a fantastic week of sport activities with the awesome Coach Henry! Jump Bunch features a myriad of sports fun including kickball, flag football, soccer, baseball and so much more! You won’t want to miss this fun filled week for the young athlete in your home. Our camp week includes a field trip to Harry Grove Stadium to watch the Frederick Keys AAA baseball game. Batter Up!

Sess 4 ~ July 15 to July 19 ~ Village Green Culinary Institute

This promises to be a delectable week as our own Top Chef, Tara Miles, instructs our junior chefs on the fine art of how to select and prepare delicious and wholesome meals that nourish the body and please the palate. With an emphasis on farm to table freshness, our week concludes with a field trip to the beautiful Great County Farms where our junior chefs will pick their own blackberries to bring home for dinner. Fresh berry pie….Oh my!

Sess 5 ~ July 22 to July 26 ~ Fit-Tastic Me!

Prepare for a fun-filled week of fitness! Every day our campers will experience the excitement and variety of the many ways they can stay fit through sampling our menu of fit-tastic activities. With different specialists for each genre of fit-tastic fun, our campers will have an opportunity to try their hand at Hip-Hip, yoga, tennis and Tae Kwon Do. Of course, our week wouldn’t be quite complete without a trip to the Dulles Gymnastics Academy where campers can test their “fit” skills by running through obstacles courses, jumping into foam pits and playing on giant inflatables. Who says staying fit is hard work?!

Sess 6 ~ July 29 to Aug 2 ~ Classic Camp Games!

Oh…to go back to the great classic games from camps gone by! Take a walk down memory lane while your children participate in good, old-fashioned fun. Remember “Capture the Flag”? “Tug-O-War”? How about those scavenger hunts? Every day, our campers are in for a new surprise as our specialist leads them through fun, interactive and exciting games that pay homage to camps before the world of hand held technology was invented. With an emphasis on teamwork, discovery, creativity and a whole lot of fun, your camper is bound to have a week that will give them plenty to talk about! Oh, and did we mention? Field trip Friday takes us to Burke Lake Park for an exciting round of Frisbee Golf. Fore!

Sess 7 ~ Aug 5 to Aug 9 ~ I Feel The Music In Me!

And so will your campers as they experience the sounds and rhythms of percussion, horns and strings. Music is an international language and our amazing guest specialist will teach your children how to reuse and re-invent recycled materials to transform them into instruments that make beautiful music. This promises to be a truly special week because not only will our campers learn how to become guardians for our environment through their music but the week also culminates in a magical performance that will have you “tappin and clappin” in the aisles! You won’t want to miss this one!

Sess 8 ~ Aug 12 - Aug 16 ~ Theater in The Village

Whether your camper has been bitten by the acting bug or just enjoys “being in character” this is the week for you! Village Green Day Camp is very pleased and excited to partner with Mary Lechter and her amazing company “Acting For Young People”. AFYP has been recognized as one of the best acting programs for young people in the Northern Virginia area. They have won numerous accolades such as Best Performing Arts Company (Northern Virginia) Virginia Living Magazine as well as Best Children’s Theater Education 2011, Washington Family Magazine. Her specialist will guide our campers through improvisations, teach them various techniques of acting, and incorporate using scripts for performance. To top it all off, our young impresarios will put on a show at the end of the week that will have you cheering! And the award goes to……
