We couldn’t be more excited to kick off our upper camp program with Things That You Can Build! This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) based program will incorporate fun, innovative and creative projects that our young engineers can really take into the future! We are thrilled to have both a specialist and the STEM Ambassadors from Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology leading our camp this week. And if that wasn’t enough, we will be completing our week with a field trip to the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. to visit the Play, Work, Build exhibit.
We have an amazing 3 day program with visiting guest artist Jessica Maxson from Maverick Mosaics located in Vienna, Va. Our campers this week will design and create beautiful and intricate pieces of mosaic art to take home with them at the end of the week. Our advice to you is that you had better make some room on your walls because you will definitely want to display these mosaic masterpieces!

Prepare for a fun-filled week of fitness! Every day our campers will experience the excitement and variety of the many ways they can stay fit through sampling our menu of fit-tastic activities. With different specialists for each genre of fit-tastic fun, our campers will have an opportunity to try their hand at Hip-Hip, yoga, tennis and Tae Kwon Do. Of course, our week wouldn’t be quite complete without a trip to the Dulles Gymnastics Academy where campers can test their “fit” skills by running through obstacles courses, jumping into foam pits and playing on giant inflatables. Who says staying fit is hard work?!
Oh…to go back to the great classic games from camps gone by! Take a walk down memory lane while your children participate in good, old-fashioned fun. Remember “Capture the Flag”? “Tug-O-War”? How about those scavenger hunts? Every day, our campers are in for a new surprise as our specialist leads them through fun, interactive and exciting games that pay homage to camps before the world of hand held technology was invented. With an emphasis on teamwork, discovery, creativity and a whole lot of fun, your camper is bound to have a week that will give them plenty to talk about! Oh, and did we mention? Field trip Friday takes us to Burke Lake Park for an exciting round of Frisbee Golf. Fore!
